Welcome to the National Unitarian Fellowship's (NUF) Unitarian Internet Fellowship Forum.
Don't forget to
The Forum was created by the Fellowship to serve a number of purposes:
- to provide an on-line space for discussion of spiritual matters from a liberal perspective;
- to encourage communication between Unitarians and those broadly sympathetic to liberal religion on matters of common concern and interest;
- to disseminate information about Unitarian (and other) events and developments;
- to offer a virtual community of like-minded souls.
There is no "house style" - those of you who are familiar with internet Forums will know that they are by nature libertarian, even anarchic, spaces, in which the only successful form of regulation is self-regulation. The Forum will never be exactly what any of us would want - not the least of its merits is that it is a place where we can learn to get along with people who don't necessarily see the world exactly as we do.
We hope that you will enjoy your membership here. If, however, anything is posted which upsets you, we suggest:
- first, take a deep breath (and maybe make yourself a cup of coffee)!
- consider whether you can let it go. If you can, well and good; if not, remember that there is a "private message" facility where you can share your concern with the individual contributor. Sometimes this is a better way of handling things than replying on the open Forum.
If you are still unhappy, please share your concern with the Moderator, again, via the Private Message Facility.
You will receive e-mail notifications of replies to threads you have posted to, and of any others which you flag for that purpose, but you will need to visit the Forum itself to see other threads. Please add the Forum to the "favourites" list in your browser.
I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us.
